Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has another hamstring injury, this one coming in the first half in the Catalans 4-1 win vs Real Betis. Messi has had a long history of hamstring and thigh injuries. Unfortunately he will miss Barcelona’s Champions League clash with Celtic at Camp Nou.

  7. Messi will be back before the champions league get harder. And Barcelona is a team that has sell lot of great players in the past. Barcelona will learn how to play well in the absence of Messi

  11. they have been doing ok with a Messi at 70% since the start of the season. with Martino revisiting the style of the game which fits a lot more to fast players ( Alexis is doing so much better since he can use his speed to his advantage) i don't see it as a big problem. Big games will come later on, hoping Messi will be back and healthy fot them.

If there was a time for Messi to get injured, it would be now with Barcelona already qualified for the CL knock out round and with our toughest fixtures being Villarreal and Getafe at home, and Bilbao away – all games that we are more than capable of winning without Messi – and with the international and winter breaks in between. For me, I don't think that this will have too much of an effect on our results if he is completely recovered by the time that we have to travel to Vicente Calderón; that is my biggest worry.

  13. @rigoberto Neymar is gr8… 4 goals 7 assists isn't bad at all… he scored vs tough teams like Real Madrid and atletico madrid that btw that goal won for Barca a trophy… and that all was so early since he came to barca… if u watch him… he doesn't fall anymore like he used to… and everybody talking about Ronaldo deserves ballon d'ar coase Messi was injured… Ronaldo had such shit games last season without injurys and messi with injurys brought barca to semi finals… vs Milan barca was 2-0 down and he scored that 2 golazos and vs PSG… I don't think messi had a ge8 yr but Ronaldo sure didn't have a gr8 yr, he had/has a gr8 season, I mean this season (12 games) but not a gr8 yr at all… I hope ballon d'ar isn't voted by ppl with short term memory… I don't think messi should win it but sure not ronaldo…

  14. And btw Messi is expected to b back vs atletico madrid… and group stages barca is in and if the even draw only 1 game in CL group stages they will b in top of group h… and for next round he'll b back…

Rick u can't compare barca now to barca last season…not saying that they r like barca under Peo…but P-K is getting better… Puyol has at least a good read on the game and the have Bartra that's sooo fast if u saw him lately… he would outrun robben any day… and alexis is in gr8 form… they could easily use alexis or Neymar as a false 9… Maschereno is proving gr8… he could hang in Ronaldo's etc. Balls and don't let him run 2 feet… he has gr8 tackles… vs bayren barca controlled the midfield just couldn't get into final 3rd… and couldn't cope with their counters and set pieces…

Ppl dont c the hole pic, yes messi was injured but so was Puyol and alexis started to get his confidants… and Neymar would've break bayern's def not that barca would've won, but not a 7 and of coarse not a 0… he's gr8 in def as well… now they have Bartra that IMO is much better then overrated verena…and for god sake they didnt have a manager… tito had/has cancer and was in ny… ppl think a couch is someone that screams on refs, NO… a couch is somone that gives u tactics knows who to put on pitch… barca's def was injured their attack was injured and mainly no tactics what so ever… like iniesta said that they played the 90 min and hoped it'll bring goals but with no tactics

  20. messi has the perfect time to get in injury especially since there is a 2 week international break. Also if Messi wins the ballon'dor, that means fifa is rigged and messi sticks money up Blatter's ass because he was injured for 40% of the season.
