It seems that the growth and hype around World of Warcraft just keeps exploding. With that popularity, more and more people are interested in learning about how to become a Fire Mage. What is that? The mage class in World of Warcraft is designed to do damage when solo or in a group. With talent points you have the option of becoming an Arcane Mage, a Fire Mage, or a Frost Mage. Each of these different options has their own advantages and disadvantages. If you want to become a fire mage, then you need to put your talent points in the fire tree.
As soon as you hit level 10 you get your first talent point. Start putting points into the fire tree and you are on your way to becoming a fire mage. It’s best to focus on a specific talent tree while leveling, so be sure to stay with fire and don’t spread your points around. The deeper you get in a tree the more powerful abilities you can get.
As far as armor is concerned look for spell damage, fire damage, and spell crit which is it’s own stat or happens as a side effect of intellect.
The advantage to being a fire mage is that you have very high damage against single targets. You will use your fire spells to nuke the target till it’s dead. How cool is that? You will also be fulfilling your group role as a damage dealer.
In group play you will be able to put out much of the damage on the target, but must be careful to not pull aggro from the tank else. The disadvantage of being a fire mage is that you don’t have as much survivability as a frost mage does. Another disadvantage is that fire takes a bit more mana so you will end up drinking more often to restore it.
To maximize your total damage, there will be a series of abilities that you will use. These will cycle through to give you the most possible damage. Every patch these can be a bit different because of changes that are made or new gear that is introduced to the game. It is best to follow some forums to find out what is working best overall.
If you want to become a Fire Mange, be sure to focus on the fire tree and keep up with your mana.
