Manchester City are reportedly ready to rival Liverpool for the services of Nice forward Amine Gouiri.
Pep Guardiola’s side failed in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur hotshot Harry Kane last year and are supposedly not planning to reignite their pursuit of the England national team skipper.
However, the reigning Premier League winners are expected to be in the market for a Sergio Aguero replacement next season, with a January move for PSG Kylian Mbappe being touted.
Jurgen Klopp is rumoured to have personally requested to add Gouiri to his squad at Liverpool, however, according to Fichajes, the Citizens are also keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.
Gouiri’s breakthrough campaign with Nice last season saw him to found back of the net 12 times and provided seven assists in 34 Ligue 1 games, and he has continued to thrive under the tutelage of Christophe Galtier.
The France Under-21 ace already boasts five goals and two assists from seven league games this season and is contracted to French outfits until the summer of 2024.
