Liverpool determined to sign No.7 creative French attacker and signing 18-year-old Danish striker

Liverpool hold an interest in Stade Rennais winger Martin Terrier and could add the attacker to replace Firmino, according to reports in France. Liverpool have revamped their attack significantly in recent months, bringing in Luis Diaz from Porto in winter and adding ex-Benfica centre-forward Darwin Nunez to their arsenal this summer.

Salah has also finally renewed his contract with the Reds and is ready to stay at Liverpool until 2025, but Mane has departed after six years at the Merseyside club in order to join Bayern. That means the Salah, Mane and Firmino trifecta which powered Liverpool to both the UCL and PL is no more, and Roberto’s own future stays uncertain.

Approaching the age of 31, Brazil international has yet to enter discussions with Liverpool about a possible renewal and the expectation is he will be allowed to leave on a free transfer in the summer of 2023. With that in mind, the Reds admire Terrier and could make a move for the attacker if and when the Brazilian forward moves on.

Last campaign Martin scored 21 goals in 37 Ligue 1 games for a side which qualified for the UEL by finishing fourth under Bruno Genesio, who previously coached him for a campaign in his stint at Lyon. Martin won the Ligue 1 player of the month award for March earlier this year and was included in the official team of the campaign come to the end of the season.

Liverpool and Newcastle United are closely monitoring the progress of William Osula. The two PL teams are unlikely to attempt to add Sheffield United striker in the ongoing transfer window. The Blades are considering sending him out on loan to Burton Albion.

U16 Denmark international spent most of his formative years in his homeland, going from strength to strength at Copenhagen before finishing his footballing education at Sheffield United. Osula joined the Blades as a 15-year-old in 2018 and has come leaps and bounds since then.

William made his professional debut for the Blades in March 2022 and has turned out four more times for the South Yorkshire team since then. And the 18-year-old striker’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with several PL teams, including Liverpool and Newcastle United, keeping a watching brief on him.

Liverpool have focused on bolstering their youth ranks since the German manager took over as Jurgen Klopp nearly seven years ago. While very few Liverpool academy products have graduated to become first-team regulars, Klopp has given teenagers a fair chance, especially if the Reds poach them at an age when they are set to feature regularly at the senior level.

The latest shining example of such an outlook has been Harvey Elliott, with pundits tipping Fabio Carvalho for a bright future at Anfield. And with Firmino approaching the twilight of his career, the Reds will need to invest in a centre-forward, especially if he leaves amid interest from Juventus.
