Chelsea keen on to sign Torino’s 24-year-old star

Arsenal have reportedly emerged as the latest team to join Chelsea in the race to sign Torino defender Gleison Bremer.

The North London giants have enjoyed a productive summer transfer window thus far with Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira having already moved to the Emirates Stadium and the Citizens striker forward Gabriel Jesus believed to be on the brink of a move to North London.

Furthermore, Mikel Arteta will be able to call upon the services of centre-back William Saliba next campaign, the Frenchman having returned from a loan spell at Marseille.

However, the Gunners continue to be rumoured with players in a number of positions, including a fresh addition for the middle of their defensive end.

According to 90min, Torino sporting director Davide Vagnati is ready to hold talks with several London teams regarding a possible deal for Bremer.

The report suggests that Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur will also will meet with the players agent over a possible move to Premier League.

Outside of the top teams in Serie A, Bremer has established himself as one of the most sought-after players, the South American defender having contributed to his team putting together a defensive record earlier in 2021-22 which was on par with the title-chasing clubs.

The 25-year-old defender was subsequently named as the division’s best defender for the last season, and Torino recognise that now is the best time to maximise the value of their most prized asset.

Bremer has also suggested in the past that he was asked to commit to the 2021-22 season before being allowed to depart for a bigger European team this summer.
