Liverpool fimally sign 2 midfielders for the price of World-Class, one of them's an 'elite prospect'

Liverpool should sign two midfielders for the price of Bellingham, one of them’s an ‘elite prospect’

Liverpool should sign midfielders Luka Sucic and Nicolo Barella for less than the cost of Jude Bellingham.

According to Sport Bild, Borussia Dortmund have put a price-tag of £104m on their star man. Rather than smashing their transfer record for the teenager, we think Liverpool should go for the two midfielders instead of Bellingham.

As per Goal this week, both Sucic and Barella are of interest to Liverpool. Sucic in particular is an intriguing prospect. Being the same age as Bellingham, he is reportedly seen by Liverpool as being an ‘elite prospect.’

Barella, on the other hand would be a player who could step in and improve the first eleven straight away. Jurgen Klopp is said to be a huge fan of the Italian, who would reportedly cost close to £80m.

It’s no secret that Liverpool are looking into the prospect of signing Bellingham next summer. But, as Charlie Austin has recently pointed out, Liverpool could perhaps do with two new midfielders.

With the midfield aging and the youngsters not quite of the quality needed to replace them, The Reds can’t afford to be caught short.

Should they put all of their eggs in the Bellingham basket, there’ll likely be no money left over for someone to compliment him.

That would mean Liverpool relying on the young man to revamp the midfield pretty much by himself. He’s capable, but he would need help eventually as Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara age.

Alternatively, Liverpool can bring in an excellent ready-made option in Barella. The fee looks large, but at twenty-five, he’s ready to enter his prime. His energy and creative spark would slot in seamlessly to Liverpool’s midfield.

Having snapped up Barella, Sucic can then be the exciting prospect to lead Liverpool forward into the second half of the decade.

The Croatian would cost considerably less than Bellingham but could well be just as good.

If he can turn a few heads when Liverpool face Salzburg this pre-season, perhaps he’ll become simply too difficult for Klopp to ignore.

Plenty to ponder for Liverpool as they look asses their options. Bellingham is no doubt a generational talent, but should he slip through their clutches, Liverpool will have plenty of capable alternatives.
