Big Blow: World-class Ligue 1 attacker not on Liverpool summer radar

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has played down suggestions that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could be in the mix for Kylian Mbappe’s signature during this summer’s transfer market.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward continues to be linked with Real Madrid, and the Spanish side are expected to step up their long-standing interest in the Frenchman after UEFA Euro 2020.

A recent report stated that Liverpool had approached the Parisians with an enquiry for the World Cup winner, who will see his existing deal in the French capital expire next June.

However, according to Fabrizio, there is nothing between Liverpool and Mbappe this summer, with the Merseyside giants not contenders to land him ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

The 22-year-old netted 42 times and registered 11 assists in 47 matches for Mauricio Pochettino’s side last campaign, including eight goals in 10 UEFA Champions League outings.
